WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
Become a Foster

Fostering an animal isn’t always easy—but it is always meaningful. While there may be challenging and emotional moments, fostering is also one of the most rewarding ways you can save a life.
When you foster, you open your home to an animal that may be scared, sick, injured, or unsure of people. At first, they may not understand that they are safe—but with patience, care, and love, that changes.
As a foster, you help by:
-
Providing a safe, loving home
-
Feeding and caring for the animal daily
-
Helping with socialization and basic training
-
Giving them time to heal and grow
We cover all medical care and supplies.
All you provide is the shelter and the love.
You will never be alone in the process. A dedicated foster coordinator will support you every step of the way and make sure you have what you need. When the animal is ready, we work together to find them a loving forever home.
Fostering can be heartbreaking at times—some animals are too sick to save, and some are hard to let go. But seeing an animal heal, thrive, and find a family of their own makes every moment worth it.

Man The Pet Food Pantry
Working the pet food pantry is easy and flexible. The pantry is open for just two hours each week, and volunteers rotate shifts so no one is required to serve every week.
Volunteers will open the office, bag pet food, distribute the approved amount to each guest, and record the total amount of food given out along with the number of families served that day.
A team member will provide training and support until you feel confident running the pantry independently.
Sort Cans
Four Legs and Fur recycles aluminum cans to help raise much-needed funds to keep our rescue running. When you become a volunteer, you’ll be added to our Facebook Messenger volunteer group, where you’ll receive updates about upcoming events and activities.
When it’s time to sort cans, we’ll post the date and time—then all you have to do is show up. Please wear old clothes, bring gloves, and be prepared to get a little dirty. Aluminum cans can be messy and must be carefully sorted to ensure no trash ends up at the recycling center.
It’s not the cleanest job, but it makes a big difference and directly helps keep our doors open and our animals cared for.
Work Fundraisers
Four Legs and Fur hosts many fundraisers throughout the year and is always in need of dependable volunteers willing to donate their time. Many of these events take place around holidays, but with a strong volunteer team, no one has to sacrifice all of their holiday time with family and friends. By working together, we can make each fundraiser a success while still enjoying the moments that matter most.
